Members and Parents of Home Grown 4-H that participated in the clean-up.
Friday, August 20th, 23 Home Grown members and parents offered their time and energies to help a 4-H family that was a victim of Hurricane Charley.  We left Lakeland at 9:30a.m. to drive to the Mesh home in Lake Wales.  There we removed debris and raked more than an acre of land that was damaged by trees knocked down during the storm.  The fallen trees and branches had already been removed,  Our volunteers loaded six wheelbarrows at a time and a flatbed trailer and hauled the loads to a large burn pile on the back of the property.  We took a lunch break around 1:00p.m. and continued working until 4:30.  Thanks to all those who helped.  Your labor of love is greatly appreciated.  We have several more 4-H families in need in the near future.  Call Mrs. Raymond to sign-up.
