RECOGNITION NIGHT
This year's awards and recognition banquet, which was scheduled for Friday, August 27th, has been rescheduled due to Hurricane Charley.  The new date is Friday, October 8th at 6:30p.m.  It will be held at the Stuart Building at the Ag Center in Bartow.  This year's theme is a masquerade called the Green and White Ball.  All 4-H members, volunteers, parents, family, and friends are invited to come dressed in their semi-formal or Sunday finest and donned with their own mask.  As in recent years, there will be dancing.  A professional ballroom dancer will lend his expertise to us.  R.S.V.P. with Judy Raymond or call the 4-H office at 519-8677 ext. 113.  The meal is free but each family is asked to bring a dessert to share.
DOG SEMINAR
The Polk County Dog Advisory Committee is holding an agility and rally seminar for 4-H members enrolled in the dog project area.  It will be on Saturday, September 11th in the indoor arena at the Ag Center in Bartow.  It begins at 8:30a.m. until 3:00p.m. and the cost is $5.00 each.  Bring your dogs with you.  A concession stand will also be available for lunch, drinks, and snacks.  All profits go towards the Youth Fair Dog Show expenses.
POLK COUNTY 4-H FUN DOG SHOW
There will be a fun dog show on October 9th in the indoor arena at the Ag Center in Bartow.  The show begins at 8:30a.m.  There will be showmanship, obedience, agility, rally, and fun classes offered.  Everyone is invited to attend, even adults and cloverbuds.  There is a fee per class.  A concession stand will be available.
